Superbowl Content for the TV-Less

Let me start this post with an admittance:  I’m a cord-cutter.  I turned in my DVR and cable box for a Roku digital video player and haven’t looked back since.  I soldiered on with a knowledge of the video intrawebs that comes from working inside of the all-encompassing video engine known as Frequency.

So, returning from a Super Bowl party last night (still buzzing with G-Men inspired euphoria), I couldn’t go to my usual playbook of re-living Super Bowl glory via gazing at ESPN highlights on a constant loop.  So I turned to Roku’s Nowhere TV and found some interviews and recaps on an SNY (a local New York sports network) video feed.

That took the edge off, but I still needed more.  I wanted to watch Eli’s amazing exploits - and hear the lament of New Englanders over their crushing defeat.

So I picked up my iPad - I opened up my Frequency App, and was treated to a smorgasbord of Super Bowl celebratory clips - even a student riot at UMass.   You can watch those that I frantically favorited on my Frequency channel.  But it did the job - I let our Super Bowl topic channel run for hours, as I drifted into a contented and victory-soaked slumber.  Score one for the cord-cutters.
